Social Worker in Schools (SWiS)

The role of a Social Worker in Schools is to work with families and the school to achieve improved educational outcomes for students. A positive link between home and school is critical for the educational development of all students. There are many aspects to the role of the Social Worker in Schools and whānau are more than welcome to initiate contact.

SWiS is available to assist with various issues including:

  • Attendance

  • Bereavement

  • Bullying

  • Behavior Difficulties

  • Social skills

  • Advocacy

  • Referrals to outside agencies
