Speeches

Students at Papakura Normal School are encouraged to develop their skills with oral language and speech making by participating in school speech competitions. In the Junior School, students complete poetry recitations. These skills are developed each year leading to formal speeches in the Middle and Senior Schools.
	In 2006 the Middle School winner represented Papakura Normal School in the Papakura APPA Speech Competition finishing 2nd. The Senior School speech winner with a speech entitled 'Maori Heroes' won the Papakura APPA Speech Competition and the Papakura Principal's Association Speech Cup in the two separate competitions
