HOMEWORK GUIDELINES
Each child will be assigned appropriate homework (as defined below) on a regular basis, Monday – Thursday.
Year 1 – 3 up to 30 minutes
Year 4 – 6 30 - 45 minutes
Year 7 – 8 45 minutes to 1 hour
A daily reading component must be included.
At year 7 & 8 level a “research project” will be included each term.
Homework will be given at the discretion of the teacher during February due to assessment and programme development.
Selected homework will be given relating to class programmes, age and ability to ensure children are able to complete it independently. This is particularly important in multi-level classes.
In the Junior School, homework will centre on reading, other curriculum areas being introduce in Year 3.
Teachers will be responsible for weekly marking and giving of feedback on homework set for each child.
