Bachelor of Education

Derek is currently teaching Year 7/8 students and is a member of the Papakura Normal School staff. Since starting in July 2005 he has involved himself in school life especially with the Senior Kapahaka group.

Teacher - Room 4

Zane began teaching at Papakura Normal School in 2005 having recently gradudated from Auckland University where he completed his teaching qualifications. Zane has a particular interest in Maori education and is very talented artistically.

BA Soc Sci (Hons) , Dip Careers Guidance, Teaching Certificate

Miss Cole started at Papakura Normal in 2009, after several years of working in a secondary school and in the tertiary sector. She is now teaching Year 7 and 8 students.
She enjoys all areas of the curriculum but has a special interest in social studies, especially history topics, and loves quizzes and trivia.

Kate Assink is a Beginning Teacher at Papakura Normal School after graduating from the Bachelor of Education in October 2009. She has a passion for teaching and learning and her philosophy centres around building strong relationships with her students and their families. She also focuses on using the interests of her students to create relevant contexts for learning which keep them engaged. Kate has two young children and is very passionate about her profession.
