Kanta has been a member of the Papakura Normal staff since January 1998.As a senior teacher Kanta is responsible for the Year 1/2 team. She was born and raised in Fiji and worked in the library sector before coming to New Zealand. Kanta teaches Year One and two children in the Junior School. She is an associate teacher for students from Auckland University who are training to become teachers.

Emma has been teaching at Papakura Normal since late 2006 in the Junior School. Emma has a particular interest in the areas of Physical Education, Reading and Social Studies. Emma loves to see children in her room become increasingly more independent and involved in the learning process. She is also a keen sports fan, who especially enjoys watching the rugby. Go the All Blacks!

Mrs Margaret Vlaar taught in Wanganui and Taranaki for several years before moving to Papakura.
After 10 years of teaching classes from Year 1 to Year 6 at St Mary"s she came to Papakura Normal School and has been here for the past 25 years.
Enabling several generations of five year olds to make the important transition from preschool to primary school has been a task which continues to provide her with immense personal satisfaction and keeps her young at heart.

Tracy joined the Papakura Normal staff as a beginning teacher in 2009. She completed her Bachelor of Education (Teaching) at the University of Auckland in 2008. Tracy has a passion for literacy and the arts. She has always wanted to be a primary school teacher and is enjoying teaching at Papakura Normal.

Helen joined the Papakura Normal team at the start of 2010 as a full time teacher in the Junior Syndicate. Growing up in the area and having attended Papakura Normal as a child, Helen has always had a special affinity for the school. She has particular interests in reading and visual arts.

Leigh Joined the staff at Papakura Normal School in 2009 as a beginning teacher. Leigh enjoys working in the junior school and when she is not teaching she is busy with her two children. Leigh is passionate about reading, science and technology. During summer you will find her at the beach and in winter she will be at the netball courts!

Sheldon joined Papakura Normal team at the start of 2011 as a full time teacher in the Junior Syndicate; having completed her Bachelor of Education at the University of Auckland in 2010. Sheldon has grown up in South Auckland and has a passion for Literacy, Numeracy, PE and Visual Arts. Sheldon has always wanted to be a primary school teacher and after an enjoyable final practicum placement at Papakura Normal she was thrilled to be offered the chance to start her teaching career within our school.

Paige joined the Papakura Normal team as a beginning teacher at the start of 2012. She has both a Bachelor of Arts and a Graduate Diploma in Primary Teaching which she completed through the University of Auckland in 2011. Paige grew up in South Auckland and has always wanted to teach at a school like Papakura Normal. She particularly enjoys incorporating Drama, Literacy and Social Studies into the classroom and has a great love of Netball.
