Year 5/6

Deanna joined the staff at Papakura Normal in 2008 from previously teaching at Glen Taylor School. She has taught for a number of years in Auckland. Originally she came from Palmerston North where she grew up on a farm and where she trained to be a teacher. She lives in Papakura with her two children.

Dianne has been teaching in the Papakura area for many years, and has been at Papakura Normal School since 2001. She has a strong interest in literacy and enjoys working with students from Auckland University on practicum. Dianne is a member of the Literacy, ESOL Arts and Behavior Committees. She is currently attending "Incredible Years" courses which teach positive behavior management.

Kevin joined the Papakura Normal staff as a beginning teacher in 2011 after a very enjoyable final practicum at the school. Kevin loves being part of a passionate year 5/6 syndicate. Kevin's passion for PE will see him take the leadership role for Year 5 and 6 PE and Sport in 2013 under the guidance of Mrs Van Der Klip. Kevin also has a particular interest in ICT, Mathematics and Literacy.

Elizabeth joined the staff at Papakura Normal School in July 2006 after completing her teaching degree. She has been Teacher-in-Charge of Sports and PE for the Year 5 and 6 children and is currently mentoring Kevin Moorhouse to take over leadership in this area. Elizabeth is responsible for overseeing ICT including programming and infrastructure of our computer systems. She is the Lead Teacher of Mathematics in the Year 5/6 area.

Lois has been a member of the Papakura Normal School staff since September 1997, having previously held Senior Teacher positions in two other schools in Manurewa and Papakura.

Lois is a Senior Teacher in the Middle School and is the Environmental Education Leader. Lois also leads the Integrated (Science / Social Studies / Technology) Team.

Glen teaches the Year 5/6 Maori Enrichment class. He has tribal affiliations to Ngati Awa, Tainui and Ngati Kuri. He is interested in the use of Te Reo and Tikanga in the classroom. Glen is currently on the Maori Curriculum Committee and assists with the Middle School Kapahaka group.
